Description
Yummy yummy in our tummy! We love making donuts in our house. But lets be real who doesn’t love a donut. We made these chocolate glazed donuts and they did not stand a chance to last more then a day in my house. My children are not the biggest culprits its their father. They try and hide them but he found them. These donuts are delicious to both children and adults.
The best part about making donuts is that is it is actually very easy with the right recipe. We bake together in our house not only to spend time together but it also provides great living skill to children as well as boost their self-confidence for jobs well done.
Ingredients
3 Cups of Flour
1 cup of Cocoa
1 Tablespoon of Baking Soda
1 Teaspoon of Salt
3/4 cup of Sugar
4 Eggs
1 Cup of Sour Cream
3/4 Cup of Milk
4 Tablespoons of softened butter
1 Tablespoon of Vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cooking with kiddos it is important to remind them that before we cook we wash our hands. This gets them into the practice of doing this in the future. While they are washing their hand I tend to prep the counter with the ingredients we need for this recipe.
- Mix together the Flour, Cocoa, Salt, Baking Soda and Sugar. My kiddos love to measure and pour the ingredients into the bowl. We typically have multiple children helping so we take turns.
- Crack the eggs in a separate bowl. They love to crack the eggs but most of the time a shell gets in and to prevent it from getting lost in the batter we crack in a separate bowl.
- Mix Sugar, Butter and Eggs together using a hand blender or mixer.
- Add the Sour Cream and vanilla to sugar mixture.
- Slowly pour flour mixture into the sugar mixture. For this I often use 1/4 cup scoops for the kiddos to scoop into the bowl.
- Once all mixed, pour into greased donut pan.
- Bake on 350 for 20 minutes checking in between.
